Now the world’s weirdest animal faces get a chance to shine in this quirky show! It’s a celebration of the incredible diversity in the animal kingdom, revealing the extraordinarily weird features of these creatures.
World’s Weirdest Pets

When it comes to pets, there are no rules. From tiny to giant, meet the world’s most extraordinary pets. Pets featured in this show include a miniature horse that’s only 50 centimetres tall, a dog named Lucy who weighs just over one kilogram and tiny African pygmy hedgehogs that fit in a tea cup. At the other end of the scale are Big Boy, an extra-large monitor lizard, a reindeer named Star and the ultimate giant house pet – Wildthing the 950-kilogram buffalo.
Borneo’s Secret Kingdom: Weird And Wild
Friday 20 October at 6 p.m. CAT
With its floods during the wet season and its daily tides, the Kinabatangan River in Borneo is a place of extremes. The river’s power sustains and binds together the lives of elephants, crocodiles, orangutans and hornbills. Otters, strange long nosed monkeys and fish that walk on land navigate the shape-shifting labyrinth.

The reticulated glass frog blends in well with its leafy surroundings. But turn him over and you’ll see the skin on his belly is transparent, revealing his internal organs!
