Nat Geo Wild Safari Live

SAFARI LIVE is filmed in several game reserves but for Karula, queen of Djuma, the land is all one kingdom. She has raised more cubs than any other leopard our guides can remember. We meet the royal bloodline: the princes, princesses and the roaming king of leopards.

Elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, baboons and many other animals call Kruger Park their home. Each animal plays part in the balance of power in the bush and each lays claim to a kingdom. Watch wild animals compete for power and dominance in an ecosystem full of challenges.

Surviving in the African bush means depending on others. Running in packs helps animals like wild dogs, hyenas and lions stay at the top of the food chain. But living in vast herds also has advantages. See how social structures work for different animals.

The African wild holds more than the massive beasts we love. Smaller animals also play a vital role in preserving the balance of nature. For that reason the diversity of birds, insects and amphibians are just as important to the habitat.

Hooray!

It’s the school holidays and the perfect time to visit some of
National Geographic’s
favourite game reserves. Here are a few
of them…

Kruger National Park: Eastern Limpopo and Mpumalanga

This world-renowned park offers some of the best wildlife experiences
in Africa.

Sabi Sands: Lowveld of Mpumalanga

This private reserve shares a 50-kilometre unfenced boundary with the Kruger Park. There’s always a chance of extraordinarily close leopard sightings.

Selinda reserve: Northern Botswana

The Selinda Spillway links the Okavango Delta to the Linyanti and Kwando wetlands. It is home to 9,000 elephants and vast herds of buffalo. Predators like lions and wild dogs are also attracted to the vast floodplain.

Safari Live airs on Wednesday 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th July at 6 p.m. CAT. Make sure you check it out!
