The Night Spinner book

Have you read Abi Elphinstone’s exciting stories The Dreamsnatcher and The Shadow Keeper? Well, the third book in her trilogy is out now! Let’s explore the mysterious and magical tale that is The Night Spinner

Deep within Tanglefern Forest, Moll and her wildcat, Gryff, are waiting for a sign from the old magic before they continue their quest to find the last Amulet of Truth and save the world from the Shadowmasks’ terrible magic.

Still missing fellow Tribe member, Alfie, and armed only with a mysterious set of clues, Moll sets out on an adventure across the northern wilderness with Gryff and her friend Siddy at her side. They must brave the Lost Isles, scale the Barbed Peaks and face witches, goblins and giants who lurk at every turn . . . while the Shadowmasks draw ever closer.

Can Moll, Siddy and Gryff find their friend? And do the Tribe have what it takes to defeat the dark magic once and for all? You’ll have to read the book to find out!

Meet the cool characters!

Moll

The Night Spinner book

Twelve-year-old Moll is always getting into trouble. But that’s not surprising, because she has a lot on her plate. As Guardian of the Oracle Bones, it’s up to Moll – and her friends Siddy, Alfie and Gryff – to find the Amulets of Truth before the dark magic destroys everything they hold dear. It’s a good job then that Moll is great with a catapult, even better with a bow and arrow and a master at escaping tricky situations!

Gryff

The Night Spinner book

This stripey wildcat has razor-sharp claws and yellow-green eyes with night vision that’s seven times better than yours! Plus, his hearing is active 24 hours a day and he can smell meat from 200m away. The fast, ferocious and untameable cat protects Moll from dark magic – and will do anything to make sure she’s safe.

Siddy

The Night Spinner book

Sid is Moll’s best pal, and co-founder of The Tribe (that’s Sid, Moll, Alfie and Gryff). He’s worth listening to, even if he does have a habit of forgetting stuff, saying the wrong thing at the wrong time and generally annoying his mum. As well as breaking rules, avoiding chores and telling lies on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sid and the rest of The Tribe can fend for themselves in the forest better than any of the children back in camp.
