When young David Yi’s family move across America to start a farm, things are really tough – they have to live in a crummy trailer, his parents won’t stop arguing, and David’s heart condition means he’s not allowed to run around.

To make things worse, his weird grandma comes to stay. She’s loud, foul-mouthed, smells funny and makes him drink a yucky medicine. Eww!

But for his dad to achieve his dream of growing tasty Korean veggies, David and his family will need to learn to thrive in tough conditions, just like the hardy minari plant the film is named after!

This funny and moving Oscar-nomimated family drama will have you reaching for the tissues…

We to spoke to 8-year-old rising star Alan Kim, who plays David Yi in Minari…

Watch Minari at home or at drive-in cinemas now, and in cinemas 17 May. Visit minari.film for more details.
