Fun-seeking kids can be right at the heart of the action at the Kia Oval for the T20s! Whether you’re cricket crazy, or it’s your first ever match, there’s plenty for everyone to see and do, no matter what your age!

Not to mention Caesar the Lion – Surrey’s roarsome mascot – who’ll be on hand to make you laugh and no doubt to cause some mischief, too!

What is T20?

T20 is short for Twenty20. It’s a fun, fast-paced version of regular cricket, with
each team bowling just 20 overs each instead of the usual 220!

That means the game lasts for a few hours (rather than four or five days!) and batsmen take much bigger risks to gather runs quickly. Expect plenty of balls flying, bats swinging, and wickets tumbling!

Three facts about the Kia Oval!

The Kia Oval in South London has been home to Surrey County Cricket Club since it opened way back in 1845 – that’s when Queen Victoria was still alive, history boffins! But it’s not your average cricket ground…

1 – Prince Charles owns the land that the ground is built on, so it’s actually rented from him!

2 -The ground was home to the UK’s first ever international rugby and football matches and the first ever FA Cup Final!

3 – The Kia Oval has also been used as a training ground for American football teams in the NFL!

Fun fact: Before the batsmen can be declared‘out’in cricket, the fielding team have to shout “Howzat?!” at the umpire!
