Dive headfirst into an epic ocean adventure, as Rio is sent to live with his grandmother in California while his mum is in hospital back home. He barely knows her, so he can’t wait for his mum to get better, so he can get back.

However, everything changes when he joins his new friend Marina on her dad’s whale watching trips and meets White Beak, a gentle giant of the sea. Rio forms an instant bond with the enormous grey whale, but when White Beak goes missing he’ll have to head on a desperate quest to find it, and somehow save his sick mum, too!

ALL ABOUT GREY WHALES

CHECK OUT THESE FIVE FUN FACTS ABOUT THESE INCREDIBLE MARINE CREATURES

Gray whales have the biggest migration route of any mammal – more than 10,000 km each way!

They get most of their food from foraging along the ocean floor and sucking up tons of tiny critters.

They can grow to nearly 15 metres long and can weight over 35,000kg.

Gray whales mate and give birth in warmer water lagoons of Baja in California.

The barnacles found on a whale’s skin are as unique as a human’s fingerprints.
